Setting up
Position shredder so cable can be routed out of harm's way, where it won't be
covered by shreddings or tripped over. Use with the circuit breaker provided
and always unwind the leads completely (otherwise the cable can overheat). Do
not use with any further extension leads - we have found from experience that
it causes the shredder to stall and jam due to loss of power.
After plugging in and switching on at the wall socket, press Reset button on
RCD plug.
NEVER use (or leave) the shredder in the rain.
Starting and stopping (NB Before use, check there are no foreign bodies
in the shredder)
ALWAYS start the motor before putting anything in, and wait until chute is fully
clear of material before stopping.
Turn switch to Right (forward) or Left (reverse). (Whenever you wish to change
the direction of the shredder, you must allow the shredder to stop completely
before starting again. Otherwise it will just continue in the same direction,
even if you have changed the Forward / Reverse switch.)
To START, press Green button.
To STOP. - Press Red Button.
General
Jams
If it jams, it will either :-
Ø Switch off
Ø Go automatically into reverse *
Ø Just stall the motor - (humming / buzzing sound) - PRESS STOP IMMEDIATELY
Often, by putting into Reverse and running briefly, the material will come back
out enough to pull it out.
If material is soft, it sometimes builds up around the cutter. Running in Reverse
often clears it.
Only use wooden sticks if trying to unjam by poking.
